    Gabe Williams Show Notes

    Key Points:

    • “Control what you can control”- Mindset is something that you can control. Change only happens when you combine a new mindset with actions.
    • Adjust your mindset to be conducive to your goals and begin to think of actions taken towards those goals as a privilege. The most successful people possess a student mindset. They are consistently using the internet to absorb knowledge outside of their classes.
    • In case of an emergency on a plane, they always tell you to put on your oxygen mask first. This shows how you cannot help others unless you help yourself first. You gain the knowledge to help other people through working on yourself. You need to have gone through trials and tribulations to teach others or else your teachings aren’t gonna be authentic.
    • Rather than spending money on material possessions, use money as a tool to help others and guide yourself toward a higher purpose.
    • Willpower will diminish over time, but routines are good for reducing the amount of decisions in your life by minimizing variables. Routines help form consistency and discipline. You should keep a few distractions to strengthen your willpower, this helps us make conscious decisions to reject the temptations
    • You need to be aware of the people that you surround yourself with and how they are when you decline
    • Trust boils down to disciplining yourself, holding yourself to a standard, and keeping your word. Once you establish trust in yourself, you can produce this trust between other people
